Overview: Private luxury lodge in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The lodge required a renewable energy system to reduce diesel consumption and carbon emissions. The system consists of 2 x 120kVa generators, a 120kWp solar plant and a 190kWh/100kVa Tesla Powerpack solution. Due to the higher roundtrip efficiencies, the lithium-ion battery solution is better equipped to support the solar during the day and minimize generator runtime at night. This has translated into a 80-90% diesel saving. This hybrid solution is the first of its kind in Botswana and second on the continent. NSE provided a full EPC/development service implementing a complete hybrid solar system, bulk AC reticulation, generator as well as bulk hot water supply for the site.
